Mid-fifties Asian Wife to Her Husband

Weary and tired, I was,
When I saw you in the dark;
No regrets, no concern of flaws,
In my heart, you carved a timeless mark.

We came past, the years of score,
Since we happily tied the knot,
I could not ask for more,
Before long, I’ve got a bundle of joy in cot.

Recalling the days, of flashbacks,
All the time, I was clinging on your hand,
Naive things done on the banks,
On the beach, in a clinch on sand.

Maturity strikes, at just middle age,
Albeit, I crave to be naive;
Hold your hand in eternal bondage,
Dance all day to the tone of breve.

Yet, the folk squint at us,
Like we’re about to commit a crime;
We’re already aged, thus,
We should not be unabashed by this time.

When am about to rest my head,
On your shoulder for console,
Someone peeps through the drapes near bed,
Or my kids run across the hall.

No matter how long it gets old,
The star remains splendent as ever,
A flower keeps its stem on hold,
Till it withers and dies forever.

Despite how long the coal is burned,
It remains hotter and combust,
Wine gets as good as it gets brewed,
As times pass, sensations cannot be nipped in the bud.

I soak deep in woe,
As I reflect my gravid times,
I may have gone by you,
And failed to shower love, countless times.

You may have fallen for others,
To fill the void of lost love,
I understand you for those bothers,
Desperation leads to blunders, I grasp now.

Yet, listen to one thing in attention,
Though I’ve failed perhaps to show affection,
You’re not just another one I chose for benefaction,
But in this life, my only destination.

In retrospect, my heart fills with angst,
Wanting to go to the times bygone,
Where both of us could refuge in serenity at its best,
Far away, bidding the worries of the world so long.
